BLACKOUT FOR SOPA AND PIPA!

Today many of us, from deviantArt to Twitter to Wikipedia (and even Google) are blacking out in protest of the SOPA and PIPA legislation acts currently sitting on Congress' front table today January 18th.

So what exactly are SOPA and PIPA?

But what's a Blackout?

As to quote `TimberClipse,

"On January 18, between 8am and 8pm EST (or 13:00 and 01:00 UTC), Reddit will be blacking out their website in protest of SOPA and PROTECT IP. We request all website administrators worldwide - and especially those running large user-content websites - to black out their website at the same time, to voice their opposition of SOPA and PROTECT IP. This legislation may very well not only change the future of the internet as a whole, but also change the future of YOUR website. Act against it before it's too late."

Also, as part of the blackout, all of us taking part will avoid all internet sites until 8 PM this evening.


These blackouts shouldn't be limited to those who speak for the internet community, everyone who enjoys or cares about censorship on the internet should support the blackout. So during the 12 hours from 8 AM EST to 8 PM EST, we will also avoid the internet in general, not visiting any sites what-so-ever.
